 Topic: "New Diversity" We are living in an era of substantial change. Clothing behavior is becoming continuously more diverse. Not only young people put together their garments in the "supermarket of styles", but instead almost all age and style groups. When it is done well, it is a chance to express one's own culture and not in the sense of "anything goes". The 2008 prizes awarded by the Stiftung der Deutschen Bekleidungsindustrie (German Fashion Industry Foundation) - SDBI - looked for fashion under the title "Attitude" in line with the needs of the environment and social policy this year. New materials and cuts, secondhand and recycling, favorite pieces and new work processes – these are the ideas for solutions of the prizewinners.

 Electrolux, a global leader in home appliances and appliances for professional use, launches the 6th edition of its annual design competition online and will select a limited number of entries to compete in Zurich at the international finals October 8 & 9, 2008.
The Internet generation comprises brand-conscious, busy young professionals between 25-35 who are independent, concerned about the environment, and whose lives are intertwined with technology and online social networks. his year's submissions should be for 2-3 years into the future and address food storage, cooking, and/or washing.
Submission deadline: May 4, 2008.
Entry fee: Free design competition
Who can enter: undergraduate or graduate
Awards: First Prize of 5,000 Euro and a six-month internship at one of Electrolux's global design centers.
